National Success for Stafford’s St Mary’s Catholic Primary School as a Top Performing School
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Brewood, has been rated one of the best schools Nationally.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is delighted to have been ranked number six in a recent list published by the Telegraph of top-performing primary schools, nationally, based on Ofsted reports and Key Stage 2 SATs results.
The school’s top-ranking position is due to another fantastic set of results with 100% of pupils reaching the national expected standard for reading, writing and maths and almost half of those achieving at the higher standard (in the top 5%).
Last year, St Mary’s received a glowing report from Ofsted after a one-day inspection. The report highlighted the high level of academic achievement by pupils, as well as exceptional behaviour. It also mentions the family ethos of the school and the excellent skills of the teaching staff,
“St Mary’s is a happy, friendly school where all pupils feel safe and welcome. Parents and carers say that school is like a family and their children love coming to school. This is reflected in pupils’ positive attitudes to learning. Pupils engage in lively, intelligent discussions about their work. Teachers skilfully address the needs of all pupils in mixed-age classes. This is a strength of the school.”
Executive Headteacher, Mrs. Bernadette Corbett said, “I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of our pupils and staff has been rewarded with another set of exceptional results. To be ranked as a national top-performing school is wonderful and everyone should feel very proud.”
